Smart controls for cooling large multi-zone spaces ...
Blue Star launched the fourth generation, 100 per cent inverter Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) air-conditioning system. A VRF system is a sophisticated and intelligent system that cools large multi-zone spaces with varying heating and cooling needs through smart controls. VRF technology was introduced in Japan and has been widely accepted for its advantages such as high power savings up to 50 per cent compared to conventional air-conditioners. This new product from Blue Star is built to suit Indian conditions with 100 per cent cooling capacity even at 43 degree Celsius.

“Blue Star VRF IV Plus is a landmark indigenous introduction to Indian HVAC market and will set benchmark for our competitors,” said B Thiagarajan, Executive Director & President– AC&R Products Business, Blue Star Ltd.  Blue Star plans an export worth Rs 500 crore by 2018 to SAARC countries, Middle East and South Africa, that have similar weather conditions such as India. The company has

invested Rs 30 crore on research and development out of which Rs 20 crore has been used to develop VFR technology. Blue Star also has plans to shift manufacturing units to south, shutting down few plants in north India.

The global air-conditioning market, comprises of a range of products such as chillers, VRF systems, packaged/ducted systems as well as room air-conditioners, stands at a cumulative value of USD 90 billion. The VRF market contributes to 9 per cent of the global market. The Indian market is estimated to be around Rs 15,000 crore, out of which 6 per cent comprises of VRFs.
