Brand leaders come forward...

Seven decades old Blue Star and 30 years old Eureka Forbes, leaders in air conditioning and water purification industries respectively, have joined hands to provide the first in market, storage water coolers with aquaguard purifiers. The first of its kind product will be targeted at hotels, restaurants, educational institutions and other commercial establishments. Pure drinking water is a necessity and this tie up ensures stored cool  water which would be dispensed with purification even at the water filling end. “We plan to manufacture this cooler at Blue Star’s Himachal Pradesh plant and later it would be shipped out to Eureka Forbes plant to fit in the aquaguard,” said B Thiagarajan, Executive Director & President – AC&R Products Business. The water cooler is priced between Rs 66,000 and Rs 88,000 and the pay back period is short.

As part of the CSR, Blue Star plans to offer these to the Indian Railways to ensure dispensing  and pure water to travellers.

The market at present has no competition. It is estimated to be Rs 90 crore in FY15 and is expected to grow with more and more consumers shifting to in-built purification to around 30,000 units in FY18 with a total expected market value of about Rs 300 crore.

The partnership plans to export in one year to SAARC and Middle East countries.

A V Suresh, President – International Operations, CEO – Forbes Professional, Eureka Forbes, pointed to the company’s diversification to satisfy company’s needs.
