WABCO, leading supplier of technologies and control systems for commercial vehicles, inaugurated its second manufacturing facility in Chennai at Mahindra City. Jacques Esculier, Chairman and CEO of WABCO said that the plant was constructed with an investment of Rs 50 crore. “The plant will manufacture vehicle products for exports to Germany, Japan, Poland and the US,” he said.
The features are designed with a lean material flow ensuring low wastage of materials at all points. The plant is designed to use natural light and ventilation and to consume less material and provide a robust design, he said
Headquartered in Brussels, the company pioneered breakthrough technologies in stability and transmission automation systems and supplied to the world’s leading commercial truck, bus and trailer manufacturers. With 4centres in India the company has made sales worth Rs.1058 crore in 2011-12.
