A global plastic event in India

PLASTINDIA 2015, the third largest show in the plastics industry globally, will be held during 5-10 February 2015 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. This event is garnering the expertise of several internationally acclaimed partners like Messe Dusseldorf of Germany, Adsale Exhibition Services Ltd of China and Pilatus International Co. Ltd. and supported by The European Plastics and Rubber Manufacturers Association(EUROMAP). The foundation has successfully conducted eight mega shows in the past and this edition of the event is spread over 125,000 sq. meters and boasts of strong international participation. PLASTINDIA 2015 will feature over 2000 exhibitors from over 40 countries and around 150,000 business visitors are expected.

    Subhash Kadakia, President, PlastIndia Foundation said that the event would promote the development and growth of the plastics industry in India. J R Shah, Chairman, National Executive Council, PlastIndia Foundation, spoke about the initiatives of the foundation to help MSMEs in availing the technology upgradation fund offered by the government of India. The southern region of India leads in the production of thermostats, composites and is the hub of PVC pumps and the automobile indu-

stry. Tamil Nadu alone consumes over 750,000 tonnes of plastics, generating an income of Rs.15,000 crore in plastic related businesses. There are over 6000 plastic enterprises offering job opportunities to over 10 lakh people. The foundation also has plans to establish a Plast India International University at Vapi, Gujarat  and encourage innovations in plastic products and technologies.
