Safety and security of women across the nation has been issues of increasing concern.  Mercer, an international consultancy firm, recently conducted a survey across 230 cities in the world and in this, Chennai was ranked 113rd in safety. Among the 7 Indian cities in the analysis, Chennai had been ranked the safest, based on the four parameters - internal stability, crime rate, law enforcement and relationship with other countries. With security being a major concern, this report on the city is a refresher.
