Mexico opens Consulate in Chennai

Doesn’t Mexico remind you of tasty nacho chips with salsa sauce? Then, it is for you that the Mexican Consulate in Chennai has opened up to highlight the various opportunities in Mexico. Opened at Neelangarai, Ramkumar Varadarajan, Managing Director of Shri Govindaraja Textiles, has been appointed as the honorary consul. This centre will represent all the southern states - Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Telangana and Tamil Nadu. The Ambassador of Mexico to India, Melba Pria, said the new office in Chennai would have an important role in promoting economic and cultural ties between Mexico and India. Mexico has an embassy in New Delhi and Honorary Consulates in Mumbai and Kolkata. Trade between two countries is around 7 billion dollars.
