Know the start-ups in the city

Bored by Bengaluru being touted as the Silicon Valley? Want to know the eco system that Chennai offers to start-ups? Here’s your chance.

Startupwalk Chennai, organised by Startup centre which is an early stage technology accelerator company, has organised a first of its kind co-ordinated tour to start up companies situated in the city. If you have always wanted to understand the nerve of an entrepreneur, here is a chance. This start up walk, collects around 150-200 like-minded people to interact with entrepreneurs and their teams. First of its kind in the country, this open day is aimed to give a sneak peek into the next generation offices that are creating a wave in today’s technological world. Freshdesk, Chargebee, Madstreet Den, Indix, Hammer Head, OrangeScape, Tenreads, The Start UpCentre are some of the companies that have signed up for this open day.

Planned for 18 August 2015, Vijay Anand, CEO, The Startup Centre and the organiser of the event said: “the aim of the walk is to get people experience the start up eco system.  We also want to use this initiative to get more women technology entrepreneurs into the scene. We have reserved around 25 spots for them.”

Other cities like Bengaluru, Delhi and Hyderabad have also evinced interest to organise such walks. These help budding entrepreneurs to talk directly with the startup founders as also helps the general public to understand new age offices.
