Perplexing communications
It was none other than Dr D Subbarao, the former RBI Governor who grieved over the difficulty in being the head of the banking regulator. “More than fixing the problems, it is communicating about our moves that is difficult. It is either we talk too much or we are reticent. Even silence on the part of RBI is misinterpreted,” lamented Subbarao. Giving away the fifth R Venkataraman endowment lecture about the dilemmas in Central banking, Subbarao expressed artistically the difficulty to express as the head of RBI.
