Nod to cow slaughter bill
A welcome move from the Karnataka State Cabinet as it has decided to bring in an amendment to the law on slaughter of cow. The Prevention of Slaughter and Preservation of Cattle Bill, 2010 provides for stringent punishment for violation of the rules. The Bill had so far not got the approval of the Union Home Ministry as it is opposed by the Congress and JDS, both claiming that the Sangh Parivar has a hidden agenda!
