V Vaidyanathan (VV) Director, Bharathan Publications, publishers of the Tamil weekly Kalki, made a rich contribution to the growth of this iconic magazine. Set up by the versatile and famous Tamil writer Kalki Krishnamurthy, Kalki blazed new trails in the Tamil publishing world.
Vaidyanathan, with characteristic humility, handled the business side of the company. I remember the publication winning large advertisement contracts from Mumbai and Kolkata. I remember the company reaching great heights with the close involvement of Rajaji, T Sadasivam, N Thanu, Khasa Subba Rao and other giants.
VV, along with his illustrious brother V Krishanamurthy, renovated the ancient temple of Sri Sarguneswaraswamy at his native Karuveli village and helped evolve it as a modern, prosperous hamlet.
