Maruti – for young buyers

Maruti Suzuki has launched a new age car Ignis to lure young car buyers by offering an attractive price range.  The petrol version is priced between Rs.4.59 lakh and Rs.6.69 lakh, while the diesel variants start from Rs.6.39 lakh and goes up to Rs.7.80 lakh. 

The company, along with its suppliers, has invested over Rs.950 crore towards development of Ignis, which comes with 98.5 per cent localisation.

Ignis comes with dual airbags, seatbelts with pre-tensioner force limiter (PTFL) and ABS with EBD as standard fitments. It is reported as compliant for pedestrian safety, side-impact and offset crash regulations ahead of regulation timeline.

Positioned in the category of vehicles such as KUV100 (which sells about 2000 units a month) and GRAND i10 (sells about 12,000 units a month), Ignis comes with a mileage promise of about 21 km/litre.

Analysts expect the Ignis to clock 6000-8000 units per month initially.
