L&T profit up by 11 per cent

The Indian conglomerate has posted impressive result against a backdrop of challenging environment. At the group level, gross revenue stood at Rs 75,195 crore and the profit after tax grew 11 per cent to Rs 5026 crore. The engineering and constructions division has posted the maximum growth of 25 per cent over last year, among all the segments, registering a profit after tax of Rs 4911 crore. To keep the order book full, the company plans to intensify its international operations, which accounted for 17 per cent of order inflows this year. The segment-wise revenues were: Rs 54,378 crore from Engineering and Constructions (88 per cent), Electricals and electronics Rs 3403 crore (6 per cent), machinery and industrial products Rs 2303 crore (4 per cent) and others were Rs 1387 crore (2 per cent).
