Dish TV – subscriber additions encouraging

Dish TV has maintained its incremental market share at 23-24 per cent in Q1 FY15 and plans to add 2-2.5 mn subscribers each in FY15 and FY16.

Given the decline in Set Top Box (STB) procurement cost and corresponding increase in upfront subscriber collections, DITV has witnessed an improvement in its per subscriber economics. Post encouraging response in Orissa (40 per cent market share) and West Bengal (30 per cent market share), management plans to launch Zing in new regional markets (tier II/III cities) to gain market share.
