Hindalco – re-rating

Alcoa’s Q2 earnings release has forecasted auto sheet revenue of US$ 1.3 bn by 2018 (negligible currently), indicating global auto aluminium sheet market is set to accelerate. Hindalco’s subsidiary Novelis is a leader in this market with over 50 per cent market share. The multi-fold jump in aluminium auto sheet market is expected to be driven by auto companies which need to meet stringent fuel efficiency norms.
