Daimler grows sales and share in India

In the domestic market, Daimler India Commercial Vehicle (DICV), makes strong progress on the back of improving demand. Its double-digit growth in its Bharat Benz truck sales and gained market share in the Indian medium and heavy commercial vehicle (M&HCV) market during January-March 2016 quarter. Its sales stood at 4000 units during the first quarter of 2016 compared to 3600 units a year ago.  DICV has also started its bus business in India and has launched Bharat Benz brand of buses, built at its new bus plant at Oragadam near Chennai.

Meanwhile, Daimler has opened its regional centre for commercial vehicles in Chennai.

The German group opened its first regional centre for Commercial Vehicles in Dubai seven months ago. Now with the Chennai operations, the company has completed the regionalisation of its sales and service organisation for its commercial vehicle business in the central regions of growth. In Southern Asia DB has a total of six new regional centres.
