The slowdown in the Indian automobile market is not likely to reverse until the end of 2014. While many auto majors are trying to battle this trend, General Motors on its part is trying to put in place a strategy to start exports from its factories at Halol in Gujarat and Talegaon in Maharashtra. The strategy is yet to be finalised as the Indian subsidiary of the

Detroit major is mulling over the product range that has to be exported. This will also help GM turn profitable in its Indian operations. According to Arvind Saxena, the first Indian to head GMs operations in India since 2007, the domestic market is priority for GM. Exports is seen as a possibility of the future.
