Deming awardees galore!

Vinod K Dasari, heading AL, listed five important things for nurturing a successful automobile unit: first and foremost, he said, is good governance and good government practices. Adequate fiscal incentives come second and Tamil Nadu has been historically supportive of business. The third is skilled manpower and TN has this in abundance. The next is well-developed infrastructure of land and power. The fifth is the support of a well-spread supplier base.

In these the record of Tamil Nadu is unsurpassed: there are more Deming award winning companies in an hour’s drive around Chennai than the whole of US and Europe combined, testifying to the consistent quality and reliability of supplies, pointed out Dasari.
