Book your suburban train ticket through an app

Are you one of the few who curse the long queues when your suburban train whizzes past you? Worry not! The Indian Railways has released an app, Unreserved Ticketing System (UTS). This app facilitates booking suburban train tickets between Chennai Egmore and Tambaram. The procedure is simple: Download the UTS app that is compatible with both windows and android smart phones from the following link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cris.utsmobile&hl=en.

After a simple login, the R Wallet needs to be recharged and then the ticket can be booked by following a series of steps. This ticket can be shown while travelling. Yet another step towards paperless travel.

The Railways have formed a geo-fencing area of 15 metres away from the track and within a 5km radius from the starting journey station to book tickets. This makes travel simpler and in trend with the tech-savvy generation.
