The move is part of Star Health’s digital transformation plans, aimed at faster claim settlements, fraud detection, and streamlined customer service.
The adoption of MAtrix is expected to streamline the company’s operations, enhance claims turnaround times, and provide greater transparency and consistency in claims handling. By integrating intelligent automation and reducing manual interventions, Star Health aims to better manage rising claim volumes while meeting the growing expectations of policyholders, hospitals, and regulators, said a statement.
Anand Roy, MD & CEO of Star Health and Allied Insurance, stated that the partnership with Medi Assist marked a significant advancement in strengthening the company’s in-house claim management capabilities. He noted that the collaboration was aimed at building a more agile and technology-driven claims ecosystem. According to him, claims formed the core of the insurance experience, and the adoption of Medi Assist’s platform would help enhance speed, accuracy, and consistency, while maintaining a strong focus on tackling fraud, waste, and abuse. He added that by reducing manual interventions and standardising processes, the company aimed to improve efficiency and build greater trust with its policyholders.
The platform features a configuration-based rules engine that ensures standardised adjudication, reducing subjectivity and boosting accuracy. Additional tools such as AI co-pilots and collaborative work environments enable faster, more informed decision-making by claims teams.
Satish Gidugu, CEO of Medi Assist, added, “This partnership will redefine industry standards in technology-driven insurance operations and significantly enhance the policyholder experience.”
Beyond operational benefits, the partnership strengthens customer engagement through AI-powered chatbots, virtual assistants, and omnichannel support on mobile apps and WhatsApp. The unified API architecture enables real-time, secure data exchange among insurers, hospitals, and the National Health Claims Exchange (NHCX), ensuring seamless stakeholder connectivity.
