The company’s standalone revenue rose 8% to ₹36,625 crore, up from ₹33,875 crore in the same quarter last year.

MSIL’s sales volume grew marginally by 1.1% to 5.28 lakh units in Q1 FY’26, compared to 5.22 lakh units in Q1 FY’25.

However, operating EBIT declined sharply by 18.9%, falling to ₹3,057.8 crore from ₹3,771.3 crore in Q1 FY’25.

Margins were impacted by adverse commodity prices and unfavourable foreign exchange movements. Additionally, the company incurred higher sales promotion expenses and increased costs related to the new greenfield plant at Kharkhoda, it said in a document.

Nevertheless, the company benefited from ongoing cost-reduction efforts and higher non-operating income, which partially offset the negative factors.

On Thursday, the company’s share was trading at ₹12634.45 per share, up 0.10 per cent on the BSE as of around 3.55 pm.
