The milestone reflects the success of the Senior Citizen Red Carpet Policy, launched in 2007 as the first plan for those aged 60 and above, with no pre-insurance medical tests and features tailored to seniors’ evolving healthcare needs, the company said.

“At Star Health Insurance, we believe senior health plans must go beyond coverage to provide confidence, dignity, and peace of mind. Our policies are designed to make healthcare in later years accessible and stress-free, shaped by what matters most to seniors,” said Anand Roy, MD & CEO, Star Health Insurance.

Currently, over 11% of India’s population comprises senior citizens, many facing higher healthcare expenses and chronic conditions. Star Health offers products including Star Senior Citizen Red Carpet, Star Health Assure, Star Health Super Star, Star Comprehensive Insurance, and Star Family Health Optima.

The company has also expanded services through its Elder Care Program, available under the Star Flexi multi-rider add-on, offering support from healthcare management and emergency services to concierge assistance, engagement activities, and home-based care. Its network coverage further includes home healthcare, outpatient consultations, post-hospitalisation support, and flexible sum insured options.
