Ashok Leyland partners with FAMCO

Ashok Leyland, owned by the Hinduja Group, has entered into a partnership with FAMCO Qatar, a company of the Al-Futtaim Group, to expand its commercial vehicle business in the Qatari market.

The partnership follows its 2024 expansion into Saudi Arabia through FAMCO KSA.
The launch event was held at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre. Ashok Leyland will now offer its full commercial vehicle range in Qatar. This includes the Falcon and Oyster buses and the Boss and Partner light- and medium-duty trucks. The company has also introduced its electric bus to the market.
Ashok Leyland said the products will support fleet operators, logistics companies, small and Medium enterprises (SMEs) and public transport operators. The company stated that the vehicles are built to meet long-term operational and service needs.
Rajesh R, Head of International Operations at Ashok Leyland, said the partnership strengthens the company’s presence in the Middle East. The focus will be on uptime, aftersales support and reliable mobility solutions, He added.
Ramez Hamdan, Managing Director of Al-Futtaim Industrial Equipment, said, “the partnership will support Qatar’s transport and logistics sector.” The introduction of Electric Buses and the start of FAMCO Qatar will help local businesses, he noted.
Ashok Leyland said the partnership will offer competitive pricing, low total cost of ownership and access to FAMCO Qatar’s service network. The company said this will help improve the capabilities of Qatar’s mobility sector, according to a release.
