The Countryman C will be manufactured at BMW Group plant at Mahindra World City near Chennai and bookings have opened across the MINI dealer network. Deliveries will commence immediately.
Hardeep Singh Brar, President and CEO, BMW Group India, said, “The expanded Countryman range with the ICE variant opens doors to a whole new set of customers.”
He was addressing newsmen at the launch function.
The launch comes after MINI reported a 42 per cent growth in the first quarter of 2026. “MINI grew 42 per cent in the first quarter and that’s not just momentum, it’s MINI energy and we are not slowing down,” Brar said.
To support its expansion plans, the company planned to double its network this year by adding 10 new touchpoints across eight cities, including Jaipur, Jodhpur, Lucknow, Varanasi, Guwahati, Surat and Vijayawada. “By the end of 2026, MINI expects to have a presence through 21 outlets across 19 cities,” he added.
The Mahindra World City plant currently produces 11 BMW and MINI models with localisation levels of up to 50 per cent, supported by more than 120 Indian suppliers. The facility had an annual production capacity of more than 17,500 units, he said. Brar also highlighted the company’s assured buyback programme. “The assured residual value or the assured buyback on the MINI is 59 per cent after 4 years and 66 per cent after 3 years,” he said.
According to the company, the Countryman C is powered by a petrol engine paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. MINI is also offering finance options for the model, including a zero down-payment scheme through BMW India Financial Services.
