Lalithaa Jewellery makes a strong market debut

Jewellery retailer  Lalithaa Jewellery Mart made a strong debut on the bourses on Monday, with its shares listing at a 32 per cent premium over its issue price.

The shares listed at Rs 265.30 on BSE and Rs 265 on NSE, when compared to its issue price of Rs 201.
Lalithaa Jewellery Mart opened its first store in Chennai’s T Nagar in 1985 and sells gold, silver and diamond jewellery.
The company’s Rs 1,700-crore initial public offering was subscribed 62.97 times.
The issue comprised a fresh issue of up to Rs 1,200 crore and an offer-for-sale of up to Rs 500 crore. Proceeds from the fresh issue will primarily fund new stores.

The stock gave up some listing gains and was last trading at Rs 248 on BSE and NSE.
