The Tamil Nadu Global Investors Meet 2024 came to a close with MoUs worth Rs 664,180 crore signed, promising job opportunities for more than 26 lakh people. With the theme Leadership, Sustainability, Inclusivity the meet focussed on equittable and dispersed growth through out the state. The focus was on southern Tamil Nadu and several MoUs related to green hydrogen, renewable energy are to come up in this part.
Chief Minister M K Stalin unveiled the Roadmap to realise the USD 1 trillion dream of Tamil Nadu, which the state envisages to achieve by 2030. The CM also unveiled the Semiconductor Policy, Public Private Partnership policy and the TANFUND which connects both startups and investors.
At the valedictory, Dr T R B Rajaa, Minister for Industries, GoTN pointed to concentrating both on mass employment generating companies as well as high skilled jobs to match the aspirations of the youth. He stressed that this would lay the foundation for accelerated industrial growth across the state. For the first time, the event witnessed the participation of 39 lakh students. While many came to the location, the event was also live telecasted in colleges and district headquarters.
Chief Minister M K Stalin highlighted that this event will lay a foundation for the next 20 year growth of the state. He pointed it to an invaluable opportunity to youngsters to interact with several stalwarts across diverse fields and learn from their experience. He re-iterated on his commitment to realising these MoUs and announced that a special team under the leadership of the industry minister will follow up on the same. He assured the investors that the state would facilitate all approvals through single window system and handhold companies until start of production and even thereafter. The chief minister congratulated Dr T R B Rajaa for having organised the event of such a large scale within the short period of taking charge as minister.
