The new valve series aims to enhance the country’s cold storage capabilities, particularly for perishables, while supporting national goals under the ‘Make in India’ initiative, the company said in a statement.

“The STL family marks a leap in refrigeration valve technology, designed specifically for India’s expanding cold-chain sector. With features like modularity, high reliability, and ease of servicing, the STL valves reduce system downtime, improve energy efficiency, and extend operational life,” said Madhur Sehgal, Head of Danfoss Climate Solutions Sales – India Region.

From the storage of vegetables, fruits, and dairy to meat and seafood logistics, the STL valves are engineered for consistent performance and long-term value. Manufacturing the valves in Chennai ensures faster service, better availability, and positions India as a global hub for cold chain solutions.

Ravichandran Purushothaman, Chairman of the CII National Committee on Cold Chain and President of Danfoss India Region, highlighted the broader impact of the innovation. “With this launch, we’re reinforcing India’s food security, minimizing post-harvest losses, and advancing a resilient cold-chain network. These valves are built in India to global standards.”

The company also recently launched its next-generation iC7-Hybrid Drives Series, a suite of advanced power conversion solutions designed for clean energy applications. These digital twin-enabled modules support smart grids, energy storage, hydrogen projects, and EV fast-charging infrastructure.
