The project will be located at MCL’s premises in Odisha and will be implemented under the CAPEX model with a six-month completion timeline, targeting commissioning by November 2026.
The solar plant will support MCL’s efforts to integrate renewable energy into its operations, aligning with Coal India’s broader decarbonisation goals. Evolve Energy will handle the complete EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) scope, including site surveys, engineering, installation, commissioning, and long-term operations and maintenance.
“This win reflects our commitment to delivering scalable, industrial-grade solar solutions,” said S.K. Prasad, Head of Tendering at Evolve Energy. “We are proud to contribute to MCL’s clean energy transition.”
The 1.5 MW solar project at MCL is expected to generate significant clean electricity annually, helping offset fossil fuel consumption and supporting Coal India’s broader decarbonization goals. It also demonstrates how India’s mining sector can adopt renewable energy without disrupting core operations.
