Heartful – through meditation and yoga

Listen to this article

The Heartfulness Institute of Shri Ram Chandra Mission is a not-for-profit spiritual organisation serving people of all walks of life to teach and empower them with meditation and associated wellness practices free of cost. It claims to have four million-plus meditation practitioners with over 13,000 certified trainers/volunteers in more than 165 countries. The Institute’s global headquarters is at Hyderabad.

The Heartfulness Institute provided for an interactive session with “Daaji” Kamlesh Patel, the fourth Master/Global Guide of Heartfulness Meditation. The serene setting was the sprawling campus of the Babuji Memorial Ashram at Manapakkam on 18 February. A couple of hundred guests that included entrepreneurs, industrialists, professionals, company executives, consultants… had the experience to listen to Daaji on yoga and meditation. Through video conference, the spiritual master led simple meditation exercises and also interacted with the guests. The master of ceremonies, a software specialist, Venkat Somayaji and Prashant Vasu working for McKinsey & Co presented in lucid terms the activities of the mission.

The demonstration by school children exhibited rare sensory perceptions learned through yogic meditation practices. In the interactive session, film director Lingusamy spoke on the transformation he experienced through more than two decades of close association with the mission.

The passion seems to be infectious, with the members radiating a keen sense of service.
