Hero to increase stake in Ather

Hero MotoCorp will boost its stake in electric wheeler maker Ather Energy to 32.8 per cent from 29.88 per cent.

Hero will invest up to Rs 1,758 crore to buy additional shares in Ather Energy, the company said in a stock exchange filing.

The company said it will buy the additional shares from an existing shareholder of Ather. However, it did not disclose the name of the shareholder.

The transaction is expected to be completed by 3 September.

Recently, Ather had allotted convertible warrants ‌to ⁠Hero worth Rs 960 crore as a part of a separate preferential issue.

Ather is an existing associate company of Hero MotoCorp Ltd. Turnover of Ather for the year ended 31 March 2026 was Rs. 3,671.76 crore, according to the exchange filing.
