Input cost inflation major headwind: Ceat Chairman

H.V. Goenka, Chairman, Ceat said input cost inflation has emerged as a significant headwind in FY2026-27, however demand remains strong.

“Strong structural demand drivers, a robust balance sheet and resilient business fundamentals position us well to navigate the challenges with agility and sustain our growth momentum over the long term,” he wrote in the tyre maker’s latest annual report.

“As we look to FY 2026-27, we do so with both confidence and caution,” Anant Goenka, Vice-Chairman Ceat said.

The near-term environment is expected to remain challenging, particularly with respect to input costs and geopolitical developments, he noted.

However, demand fundamentals remain intact, supported by structural drivers such as growth in vehicle ownership, infrastructure-led activity and continued premiumisation, Anant Goenka said.

Ceat, the flagship company of RPG Group, will maintain a strong emphasis on cost discipline, pricing actions and capital efficiency to navigate near-term pressures, he added.
