Jio IPO gets SEBI nod

Reliance Industries owned Jio Platforms has received approval for its proposed initial public offering from market regulator Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), paving way for most anticipated and biggest public issue ever.

On 19 June, Jio had filed for its Draft Red Herring Prospectus (DRHP) with SEBI.

As per the DRHP, Jio Platforms plans to issue 27 crore fresh equity shares, representing a 2.93 per cent stake dilution. The company plans to use around Rs 27,500 crore of the process to repay debt.

Jio now has more than 524 million customers, while its 5G and fixed broadband businesses have reached substantial scale. The company reported Rs 1,46,885 crore in revenue from operations and Rs 76,255 crore in Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, and Amortisation (EBITDA) in FY2026.
