The core objective of this collaboration is to set up a training centre of international standards in Tamil Nadu. This centre will initially be dedicated to the footwear and fashion accessories sectors. The scope of the training facility may subsequently be extended to other departments, aligning with IUAD’s educational offerings. The joint effort aims to provide specialised training and education in the fields of design, fashion, and related disciplines through a structured programme.
This strategic tie-up is anticipated to harness the academic expertise of Accademia IUAD and the business capabilities of KICL to promote skill development and professional opportunities within the sector.
Earlier, Chairman Rafiq Ahmed had told Industrial Economist about plans to tie up with institutions in Italy, France and the UK to bring global expertise to the skill school, which aims to train one lakh youth from second-tier cities. With the Italian collaboration in place, the corporation will move forward to sign agreements with universities in France and the UK, drawing expertise also from Germany and London to strengthen its skilling initiative.
