Centre gets ₹7,324 cr dividend from LIC

Public sector insurance major Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) on Friday presented a dividend cheque of ₹7,324.34 crore to the Union Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs, Nirmala Sitharaman, as the Government of India’s share of the dividend for the financial year 2024–25.

The cheque was handed over by R Doraiswamy, CEO and Managing Director of LIC, following the approval of the dividend by shareholders at the Corporation’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on August 26, 2025, according to a statement.

The presentation ceremony was attended by key officials from the Ministry of Finance and LIC. Among those present were Nagaraju M., Secretary, Department of Financial Services, and Parshant Kumar Goyal, Joint Secretary, Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Finance. From LIC, senior leadership including Sat Pal Bhanoo, MD, Dinesh Pant, MD, Ratnakar Patnaik, MD, and J.P.S. Bajaj, Zonal Manager (In-Charge), Northern Zone were also present.
