Minister Keerthana Meets Japanese Delegation

Tamil Nadu Minister for Industries and Investment Promotion, Keerthana on Monday met a delegation from Ehime Prefecture, Japan, led by Vice Governor Noriyuki Kan, at the Secretariat.

The delegation included senior officials from the Ehime Prefectural Government’s Economy & Labour Department and Industrial Policy Division, as well as representatives from Japanese companies including MIURA Co. Ltd. and SPC Co. Ltd.

The delegation was accompanied by Consul-General of Japan Muneo Takahashi and officials from the Consulate-General of Japan.

The interaction focused on strengthening the economic and institutional relationship between Tamil Nadu and Japan, and exploring opportunities for greater collaboration and engagement, according to a statement.

In the interaction, Keerthana highlighted Tamil Nadu’s strong industrial ecosystem, skilled workforce and commitment to building deeper partnerships with Japanese stakeholders.

The meeting also reflected the importance of people-to-people and cultural connections in building lasting partnerships between Tamil Nadu and Japan.

In a lighter moment during the interaction, the Minister spoke about her interest in Studio Ghibli art and Ponyo. She also shared one of her own paintings with the Japanese delegation, adding a personal and cultural touch to the meeting.

TVK Government remains committed to strengthening its engagement with Japan and creating greater opportunities for collaboration across industry, investment, technology, skills and people-to-people ties, the release said.
