An alumnus of IIM Ahmedabad and PSG College of Technology,  Singai G. Ramachandran brings over a decade of entrepreneurial experience across consumer businesses, digital media and the direct-to-consumer (D2C) sector.

His entrepreneurial journey began with Campus Cafe, a college canteen venture that was subsequently acquired by Food King in 2017. He later built digital media ventures reaching over two crore followers and subscribers across platforms and founded a D2C health and wellness food venture that crossed one lakh customers within its first year.

With a long-standing association with entrepreneurship and youth leadership, Ramachandran has mentored over 50 startups, engaged with incubators across IITs and IIMs, visited more than 300 colleges across Tamil Nadu, and addressed over 100 institutions on entrepreneurship, startups and youth leadership, Startup TN said in a Linkedin post.

A recipient of the IIMAvericks Scholarship from IIM Ahmedabad’s Centre for Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship (CIIE), he has also been actively involved in grassroots innovation through his association with Padma Shri Prof. Anil Gupta and the Honey Bee Network.

His extensive entrepreneurial experience, strong connect with young innovators, and deep engagement with Tamil Nadu’s startup ecosystem will bring valuable perspective to StartupTN’s continued efforts to enable entrepreneurs, strengthen the ecosystem and position Tamil Nadu as a leading destination for innovation and entrepreneurship, Startup TN said.

StartupTN extends a warm welcome to Ramachandran and looks forward to his leadership in shaping the next phase of Tamil Nadu’s startup journey, the post said.

Singai G. Ramachandran also met former Startup TN Chief Executive Officer Sivarajah Ramanathan.

The interaction was to understand his perspectives and experiences during Sivarajah’s tenure. Had a meaningful discussion on Tamil Nadu’s startup ecosystem and the opportunities that lie ahead, he said in a post on X.
