Currently, Sudarshan Venu holds the position of managing director of the leading two- and three- wheeler maker.
The board of directors recognised Venu’s “exemplary contributions to the company’s sustained growth and strategic development” during his tenure as director, the company said in a statement.
The transition follows the decision of the current chairman Sir Ralf Speth not to seek re-appointment to the board at the upcoming annual general meeting (AGM). He will step down as chairman at the close of the AGM on 22 August 2025.
“Ralf’s contributions over the past three years have been invaluable in guiding the company’s strategic expansion into global markets and fostering innovation,” said Venu Srinivasan, Chairman Emeritus, TVS Motor Company. “We are grateful for his continued support as chief mentor for TVS Motor and in welcoming Sudarshan into his new role,” he added.
Ralf Speth will be appointed chief mentor of the company for a period of three years starting 23 August 2025.
“As I hand over the chairmanship to Sudarshan, I am confident that under his leadership, the company will continue its growth journey while championing core TVS values,” said Speth. “Sudarshan’s dynamism and passion underscore his vision for the business,” he added.
Reflecting on the leadership transition, Sudarshan Venu said, “Sir Ralf has been instrumental in challenging and mentoring us to expand globally, onboard international talent and invest in future-ready products and technologies. I look forward to his continued guidance as our chief mentor.”
