The initiative aims to strengthen the EV ecosystem by bridging the gap between industry requirements and academic learning, creating a highly skilled and industry-ready workforce, according to an official statement.
The centre will serve as a state-of-the-art training facility for SWITCH Mobility to upskill various stakeholders in advanced EV technologies and best practices. The Centre will focus on covering relevant technical skills and practical aspects associated with electric commercial vehicles. This initiative will enable learning about real-world EV systems, charging infrastructure, battery technologies, power electronics and emerging mobility solutions, it added.
“As part of the MoU, Switch Mobility will extend its technical expertise and support towards this initiative. This program will entail practical industrial exposure, learning and skill development,” R G Venkataraman, Chief Commercial Officer, SWITCH Mobility said.
“We are proud to be associated with an industry leader like Switch Mobility. We believe that this collaboration will provide our students with valuable hands-on exposure to EV technologies and strengthen the industry–academia partnership in the field of electric mobility. With this Centre, our vision is to offer a practical learning environment to enhance their employability and prepare them to meet the evolving demands of the electric mobility industry,” Prof. Dr. Radhakrishnan, Principal, Adhiyamaan College of Engineering, Hosur, said.
Through the collaboration, SWITCH Mobility said it continues to focus on strengthening the EV talent pipeline by combining industry expertise with academic learning.
The Skill Development Centre reflects the company’s broader commitment to advancing green mobility and supporting the growth of a skilled workforce equipped to meet the needs of India’s expanding electric vehicle industry, it said.
