“When we acquired India Cements, we told you it was a turnaround waiting to be unlocked. Sound assets in strong markets, held back only by years of underinvestment and subscale operating discipline,” Atul Daga, Chief Financial Officer, UltraTech told analysts in an earnings call.  One year in, India Cements’ EBITDA per tonne has climbed from roughly Rs 386 per tonne in Q2 FY26 to Rs 603 in Q1 FY27. “EBITDA of Rs 1000 per tonne for India Cements remains very much in sight,” said Daga. Currently capex programme is under way and non-core assets in terms of land are to be disposed of by Q4 FY28 or earlier. Daga pointed out that there were certain operating parameters that need to be brought under control or in line with UltraTech’s stand-alone performance
