TVK government inks 97 investment pacts

Tamil Nadu government exchanged memorandum of understandings (MOUs) with 97 companies with investment commitments of Rs 67,452 crore, which is expected to create direct and indirect jobs.

The MOUs were signed at the Vettri Tamil Nadu Investment Conclave 2026 presided over by Chief Minster C Joseph Vijay. This was TVK government’s maiden investor conclave.

The conclave includes 56 greenfield projects, while 25 projects represent companies undertaking their first project in Tamil Nadu. The investments span data centres, automotive, renewable energy, critical engineering, textiles, electronics and semiconductors, life sciences, aerospace, defence and space, industrial and warehousing, maritime, toys, deeptech, R&D and Global Capability Centres (GCCs)

The largest commitments include Rs 26,417 crore in data centres, Rs 17,073 crore in automotive, Rs 15,787 crore in renewables and Rs 9,525 crore in critical engineering.

Projects announced at the conclave cover 19 districts, with 54 projects located outside the State’s four core industrial districts. These represent Rs 40,722 crore in investment commitments and 61,480 projected jobs.

Out of the total MoUs, 30 foreign-headquartered projects, representing Rs 22,268 crore in foreign direct investment commitments and 38,357 projected jobs. The investments come from 16 source countries, including Australia, Germany, Japan, France, Singapore, South Korea, the United States, Sweden, Taiwan, Denmark, Malaysia, Italy and Switzerland.

A total of 40 projects across high-value sectors; including electronics and semiconductors, aerospace, defence and space, life sciences, data centres, deeptech, R&D and GCCs and universities, are projected to create 25,487 high-value jobs, accounting for 21 per cent of all projected employment.

In first 100 days, TVK government has signed Rs 1,02,514 crore in investment commitments and 1,21,788 projected direct and indirect jobs, according to a statement.
