TVS launches Orbiter, new electric scooter

TVS Motor Company, a leading player in the electric two-wheeler segment and the country’s third-largest two-wheeler maker by volume, has launched a new electric scooter, the TVS Orbiter. This marks its third brand in the EV portfolio, after the iQube launched five years ago and the TVS X in 2023.

TVS Motor Company said its latest electric scooter, the TVS Orbiter, will expand its EV portfolio with a product designed to redefine urban commuting.

Priced at ₹99,900 (ex-showroom, inclusive of PM e-Drive scheme, Bengaluru), the Orbiter scooter offers an IDC range of 158 km, cruise control, hill hold assist, and a 34-litre boot space—large enough to fit two helmets. In an industry-first, the Orbiter features a 14-inch front wheel for enhanced stability and ride comfort.

“With TVS Orbiter, we are expanding our EV ecosystem and accelerating the adoption of electric mobility in India,” Gaurav Gupta, President, India 2W Business, TVS Motor Company said in a statement.

Powered by a 3.1 kWh battery, the Orbiter combines extended range with aerodynamic efficiency. It also offers connected mobility through a dedicated app, a coloured LCD cluster with call and SMS alerts, turn-by-turn navigation, and over-the-air (OTA) updates. Safety features include crash and fall alerts, anti-theft and geo-fencing notifications, and emergency assistance.

Aniruddha Haldar, Senior Vice President — Head Commuter & EV Business and Head Corporate Brand & Media, TVS Motor Company, added that the Orbiter combines everyday practicality with advanced technology. “We are confident it will set new benchmarks in the EV scooter segment, making sustainable mobility both accessible and aspirational,” he said.

The Orbiter features an 845 mm long flatform seat, a 290 mm straight-line footboard, upright handlebars for ergonomic posture, and 169 mm ground clearance. Additional highlights include LED headlamps with integrated indicators, a USB charging port, and dual riding modes — Eco and Power — with regenerative braking.
