The company’s EVs will be produced at its new factory in Thoothukudi, in southern Tamil Nadu.

Speaking at the launch, Pham Sanh Chau, CEO of VinFast Asia, said: “Today marks a historic milestone – the launch of cars that are not just made in India, but made by Indians, for Indians.”

“The VF 6 and VF 7 embody the perfect harmony of practical design, premium quality, and cutting-edge technology that Indian consumers aspire to. Backed by our state-of-the-art Thoothukudi facility and strong ecosystem partnerships, we are committed to supporting India’s vision of becoming a global leader in electric mobility,” he added.

It is offered in three variants – Earth, Wind, and Wind Infinity – with features such as multiple drive modes, premium vegan leather interiors, a 12.9-inch infotainment screen, adaptive cruise control, and Level 2 ADAS. The Wind Infinity variant adds a panoramic fixed glass roof for an elevated driving experience.

The larger VF 7 offers an ARAI-certified range of 438 km, measures over 4.5 meters in length, and has a 2,840 mm wheelbase. It comes in five variants – Earth, Wind, Wind Infinity, Sky, and Sky Infinity – with both FWD and AWD drivetrain options. Battery configurations include a 59.6 kWh pack and a 70.8 kWh pack, offering a range of up to 532 km. The top-tier Sky variant delivers 260 kW of combined power and 500 Nm of torque, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.8 seconds. Standard features across variants include 19-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone climate control, panoramic sunroofs (Infinity variants), and a comprehensive Level 2 ADAS suite with driver monitoring.

VinFast plans to open 35 dealership touchpoints and 26 service workshops across 27 cities by the end of 2025, including major metros and emerging EV hubs such as Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune, and Kochi.

The company has also partnered with leading financial institutions to offer flexible consumer financing solutions. Strategic collaborations with RoadGrid, myTVS, and Global Assure aim to establish a nationwide charging and after-sales service network. Additionally, VinFast has joined hands with BatX Energies to develop a circular battery value chain and promote sustainable battery recycling in India.

Backed by global experience and local manufacturing, VinFast aims to position itself as a serious contender in India’s premium EV space. With successful market entries across the United States, Canada, Europe, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East, along with its leadership in Vietnam’s EV market, the company brings both international expertise and long-term ambition to India’s fast-evolving electric vehicle landscape.
