IE Celebrates its Golden Jubilee

Industrial Economist, the Business Magazine from the south celebrated its golden jubilee on Thursday, 15 March 2018, at Hotel ITC Grand Chola, Chennai.  The Tamil Nadu government, CII and McKinsey lent their expertise and support in a rich measure.

The inaugural session, presided by Mr R Thyagarajan, Founder-Chairman, Shriram Group; Director, ECL was addressed by  Dr Montek Singh Ahluwalia Formerly Deputy Chairman, Planning Commission, Ms Shobana Kamineni, President – CII and Mr Ramesh Mangaleswaran, Director, McKinsey. Mr Suresh Krishna, CMD, Sundram Fasteners Ltd,  Mr M C Sampath, Minister of Industries, Government of Tamil Nadu;  Mr K Gnanadesikan, IAS, Addl Chief Secretary;Dr Isher Judge Ahluwalia , Economist and Ms Rajani Seshadri, Executive Coach & Adviser addressed the valedictory session.

Many senior state policy makers of Tamil Nadu participated in the conference: Mr K Gnanadesikan, IAS, Addl Chief Secretary; Dr T V Somanathan, IAS, Principal Secretary , Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Department, Commissioner of Commercial Taxes and Dr J Radhakrishnan, IAS, Principal Secretary – H&FW.

The conference was attended by policymakers, business leaders,, academics and college students.

A special commemorative stamp on IE 50 years and the IE Golden Jubilee special issue with contributions from 30 expert contributors on the theme India 2030 were released.
