Comeback man

COMEBACKS ARE HARD. But comeback stories are worth telling. Who will forget the several comebacks staged by Mohinder Amarnath to the Indian cricket team. These reveal the enormous grit and steely nerve to overcome myriad hurdles on the way. Ask Shiva Ramani. He will unhesitatingly acknowledge this. This Chennai man founded CSS-SlashSupport group. Things were going well until the private equity investor pulled a fast one and threw out the founders. That was in mid-June 2009. It came as a devastating hammer on him. However, that episode brought out the steel in Shiva Ramani. He has gone on to found iOPEX Technologies, a new-generation agentic AI and automation-led enterprise transformation solution provider headquartered in San Jose, California. Over 70 global brands trust iOPEX as a strategic partner to break down complex transformations into manageable steps, deliver practical AI-led solutions leveraging its proprietary ‘elevAIte’ platform and achieve results that scale. That 2009 incident is fully behind him. iOPEX has now set up a new AI-led digital engineering services centre in Olympia Cyberspace at Guindy in Chennai. This state-of-the-art facility is expected to support the organisation’s nine global locations, including San Jose and Dallas in the US, London in the UK, Manila in the Philippines, Krakow in Poland and four Indian cities – Chennai, Bengaluru, Gurugram and Indore. Shiva Ramani is determined to get back whatever he had lost in his earlier enterprise. Fully focused on the job at hand, Shiva Ramani works on a mission mode, criss-crossing continents to secure new clients and solidify relationships with existing ones. He has the hunger to prove and a never say die attitude. These form the fulcrum that drives his propensity to succeed. Well, comebacks don’t happen sans hard work.
