CLE, KICL & Kickers hold Soles for souls marathon in Chennai

He believes in ushering in a meaningful social change alongside industrial growth. Not surprisingly all his thoughts and actions are focussed on empowering women in the underprivileged strata of the society by setting up factories in the backward districts and providing them jobs. If proof is required, it is available in plenty at the global class Perambalur non-leather footwear park that Kothari Industrial Corporation Ltd. (KICL) is developing.  KICL has come under the fold of Rafiq Ahmed, who has gone on a mission to bring the yester-year glory back to the company.

In continuation of his commitment to be a socially responsible corporate citizen, the Kickers division of KICL  joined hands with the Council for Leather Exports (CLE) to organise a“Soles for Souls” marathon in Chennai on the morning of Sunday last. An inspiring event, the marathon witnessed the participation of over 10,000 students. The initiative highlighted the industry’s commitment to social responsibility and community engagement.

One of the celebrated highlights of the day was the inter-collegiate music competition on the theme “Drug-Free Society.” Conceptualized by Kickers, this unique initiative was aimed at spreading awareness among Gen Z and millennials through the power of music. Eight colleges participated with high-energy performances, which were judged by Super Singer finalist Arvind Srinivas. He also selected the winners, who were honoured with three special prizes awarded by Kickers.
Dr. Jinnah Rafiq, Ahmed Chairman, KICL, said: “KICL has always believed in driving meaningful social change alongside industrial growth. We are humbled by the overwhelming participation in Soles for Souls and will continue to support initiatives that create awareness, uplift society and generate employment opportunities in line with our long-term vision.”
