TAHDCO, Rewin join to set up 150 physiotherapy clinics

A Chennai-based digital healthcare startup, Rewin Health, has partnered with The Tamil Nadu Adi Dravidian Housing and Development Corporation (TAHDCO) to set up 150 physiotherapy clinics across Tamil Nadu.

The initiative aims to support entrepreneurs from the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe communities and expand access to neurological, musculoskeletal, cardiopulmonary, paediatric and geriatric rehabilitation services, according to a release.
The clinics will include digital therapeutics. The project is expected to create employment for physiotherapists, technicians and administrative staff.
Vijay Karunakaran, CEO and Founder of Rewin Health, said, “The company will provide technical inputs, training and operational support for the centres.” The project would help establish rehabilitation services in 150 locations, he added.
K S Kandasamy, Managing Director of TAHDCO, said, “The scheme combines social empowerment with health access.” TAHDCO would give subsidies to SC and ST entrepreneurs to help them set up the clinics, K S Kandasamy said.
The total project cost is Rs 6,00,000. The entrepreneur’s contribution is 5 per cent, or RS 30,000. TAHDCO will give a 35 per cent subsidy of Rs 2,10,000 to eligible applicants. The scheme targets a break-even of one year.
