On Monday, US President Donald Trump and India’s Prime Narendra Modi announced that US will reduce reciprocal tariffs on India to 18 per cent.

“It’s really a great moment and I was worrying a lot about the employment of millions of people in our country and experiencing the pain, since we exported majorly to the US,” Ahmed said in a post on X.

“I sincerely thank our Prime Minister for the efforts to bring down the tariff competitive to other countries who have grabbed our market and for completing the negotiations at the right time,” he said.

Now all the international brand and footwear contract manufacturing companies will line up to India , especially components manufacturers . This will boost the industry, Ahmed said.

We had a great event  with the announcement of the European Union -India Free Trade agreement last week and now comes this remarkable announcement regarding US tariff , he said.

KICL is investing heavily in footwear manufacturing, components, design and skilling. This will be a great confidence to all our brands , supply chain , employees , investor and people of our Nation, Ahmed said.
