The second phase of the facility will have an investment outlay of ₹850 crore. It is expected to provide jobs for 6,750 persons.
The upcoming second facility will manufacture Adidas shoes.
The laying of the foundation stone for the second phase of Adidas production facility indeed marks a significant expansion of footwear manufacturing ecosystem of Tamil Nadu
Together, Phases I and II represent a total investment of ₹1,700 crore. In all, these two phases are expected to create 13,500 employment opportunities.
Once fully operational, the integrated facility will produce 40 million pairs of footwear annually, strengthening exports, generating quality employment and expanding Tamil Nadu’s manufacturing footprint in global markets.
Chief Minister Vijay laid the foundation stone for the second phase virtually.
The function saw the industries minister of Tamil Nadu S. Keerthana and the Dairy Development Minister C Vijayalakshmi participate. Chief Secretary of the State M Saikumar, too, was present at the function. The Chairman of Phoenix Kothari Footwear Rafiq Ahmed and top representatives from the foreign partners were also present at the function.
