Strong inflationary pressures in Q1: Wheels India CMD

Srivats Ram, Chairman and Managing Director, Wheels India said in the first quarter of 2026-2027 there were strong inflationary pressures on material cost due to the West Asia crisis.

“The company’s sales grew along with the domestic market for cars, trucks and agriculture tractors that continued their momentum post GST 2.0 reforms. In addition, we saw strong growth in the export of construction equipment wheels,” he said in a statement.

Srivats Ram said the company expects growth momentum to continue in the second quarter.

The company’s net profit increased to Rs 37 crore in the first quarter of 2026-2027 from Rs 26 crore in the same period last year.

Revenue increased 16.8 per cent to Rs 1,386 crore from Rs 1,187 crore. Exports grew 17.3 per cent to Rs 380 crore from Rs 324 crore.
