Built on Ather’s new EL platform, Konarc will be available across the S and Z product lines, with six variants in total. The S line comprises four variants with IDC ranges of 100 km, 125 km, 161 km, and 200 km, while the Z line comprises two variants with IDC ranges of 125 km and 161 km.

Konarc also brings a simpler ownership proposition, with service required only once a year for most riders and a 10-year/100,000 km (whichever is earlier) warranty on its fifth-generation Bedrock battery, the company said.

“Konarc has been designed to make EVs mainstream in India. We have understood the needs of the vast majority of buyers who are still waiting to go electric and have engineered Konarc for them,” arun Mehta, Co-Founder & CEO, Ather Energy, said.

Konarc is priced from Rs 99,999 (effective ex showroom Bengaluru), with deliveries beginning in a phased manner across select variants and select cities before ramping up across India.

Ather also introduced its fifth-generation Bedrock Batteries platform.

The new platform also has five times higher cell-balancing capability than the previous generation, allowing Ather to balance the cells in its battery packs for longer time and at a higher intensity, the company said.

Ather now expects the batteries to reach 70 per cent state of health much later at approximately 1L to 1.2L KMs, compared to around 80,000 to 1,00,000 km for the previous generation.

The extended battery life is backed by Ather’s new Warranty, which covers the battery for 10 years or 1,00,000 km (whichever is earlier), with a 70 per cent state-of-health guarantee. The warranty also includes coverage for defects and failures, idle-state assurance. Sales of the 10 year battery warranty will begin soon, it said.

The company also launched its AtherNode charging solution.

It is designed to address to address one of the key challenges of charging electric 2Ws and 4Ws in residential and commercial spaces with limited available load. As more EVs are added, Buildings will hit their sanctioned load capacity making it difficult to support the growth of EV’s in apartment buildings, Ather said.

AtherNode uses a single central gateway system to manage up to 1,000 chargers within a residential or commercial complex, allowing users to have a dedicated charging point in their parking spaces, the company said.

Ather introduced Ather True Health , a comprehensive health report that gives riders a clear view of their scooter’s condition. Ather True Health  also provides an estimated resale value for eligible scooters.
