The PM MITRA Park will feature world class infrastructure, including a 15 MLD Common Effluent Treatment Plant (CETP) with Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD), a 5 MLD Sewage Treatment Plant (STP), a 10,000-bed safe worker accommodation facility, and 13 lakh square feet of Plug-and-Play and Built-to-Suit (BTS) industrial spaces. The project is expected to be fully completed by September 2026.

The ambitious initiative is projected to attract investments worth ₹10,000 crore and generate employment for one lakh people, according to an official statement.

After continuous deliberations between the Government of Tamil Nadu—led by Chief Minister M.K. Stalin and the Tamil Nadu Industries Minister—and the Union Ministry of Textiles, the PM MITRA Park at Virudhunagar has been officially approved, tweeted State Industries Minister T.R.B. Rajaa.

Rajaa also acknowledged the efforts of former Industries Minister Thangam Thenarasu for laying the foundation for the project.

Tamil Nadu, already India’s leading textile exporter, aims to further strengthen its position in the global textile landscape with this mega initiative.
